Who provides the service

World Economy is operated by Slantwire Studios, LLC, a United States limited liability company. By accessing or using the website or app, a visitor agrees to these terms. A purchaser must affirmatively accept these terms before checkout.

Learning is open and purchases are for adults

Public educational content may be used by learners, families, and educators. No account is required. A purchase may be completed only by a person who is at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract. Children and teens must ask a parent, guardian, or other adult to purchase or contact support.

Information, not individual advice

The service provides general economics education and public data context. It is not financial, investment, tax, legal, medical, or nutritional advice. Visitors remain responsible for decisions based on their own circumstances and should consult an appropriate professional when individual guidance is needed.

Paid units are supplemental educational materials. They are not accredited, do not award academic credit, are not certified by a standards organization, and do not guarantee compliance with a jurisdiction's homeschool, school, or curriculum requirements. An adult educator is responsible for determining suitability and meeting applicable requirements.

Economic observations may be delayed, revised, estimated, incomplete, unavailable, or affected by differences in definitions. The service does not promise immediate accuracy, uninterrupted availability, a forecast, or a particular economic or investment outcome. Source dates and limitations remain part of the material.

Respect the content and the service

Visitors may access the public site and app for personal, family, classroom, research, and other lawful educational purposes. Upstream public data remains subject to its source license. Original explanations, design, code, illustrations, curriculum, and branding belong to Slantwire Studios, LLC or the identified licensor.

Unless a page provides a broader license, visitors may not resell, republish, remove notices from, falsely attribute, or commercially exploit original project content. Visitors may not interfere with security, attempt unauthorized access, bypass purchase controls, introduce malicious code, or use automated requests that unreasonably burden the service. Normal search indexing and accessibility technology are permitted.

Price, payment, and contract

Prices are charged once. Purchases are not subscriptions. Website prices are displayed in United States dollars before applicable taxes; Stripe shows the final amount before confirmation. App Store prices are supplied by Apple for the purchaser's storefront and may differ from website prices. Website purchases are processed by Stripe. Purchases made in the World Economy iOS app are processed by Apple through In App Purchase and are also subject to the Apple Media Services terms that apply to the purchaser.

A household website purchase grants a limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable license for personal educational use by the purchaser and children who live in the purchasing household. The purchaser may print household copies and keep a private backup. A verified Apple entitlement may also be available to recipients through Apple Family Sharing when Apple makes that feature available and the purchaser has enabled it; those recipients receive personal, noninstitutional use while the verified entitlement remains available. Neither household purchase channel permits resale, public posting, removal of notices, or institutional, class, cooperative, tutor group, or organizational distribution.

The Economics Club Kit is a separate website only group product. Its adult purchaser may use the file with one cohort of no more than ten learners, keep one private facilitator copy, and print or privately distribute one learner copy to each enrolled learner in that cohort. It may not be used by another organizer or cohort, distributed to more than ten learners, posted publicly, resold, or stripped of notices. A larger or additional group requires written permission or another appropriate license from World Economy.

A standard PDF delivered after payment

After confirmed website payment, the site displays a private download link to a PDF. Stripe sends a payment receipt to the address entered at checkout. For an eligible household package, its description includes the package name and private iOS app access code. The Economics Club Kit is delivered on the website and does not include an iOS app access code. The private download link expires after approximately 20 minutes for security. A saved PDF has no expiry mechanism, but the purchaser is responsible for device storage and a private backup. An access code is a bearer credential and a Stripe receipt containing one must be kept private. After a verified Apple purchase, the iOS app unlocks the purchased PDF while the StoreKit entitlement and app access remain available. The app provides separate controls to restore an eligible Apple purchase and an eligible website purchase.

Before website checkout, the purchaser requests immediate digital delivery. That request does not waive the voluntary website refund policy or a mandatory consumer right. If website delivery or eligible code redemption fails after a confirmed charge, support will verify the Stripe receipt. If Apple purchase access is missing, use Restore Apple Purchases first and then contact support with the Apple order information if the problem continues.

Refund help for each payment method

For a website purchase, a purchaser may request a refund by emailing support within 14 days after purchase from the email used at checkout. Include the Stripe receipt. The refund will be returned to the original payment method, and the curriculum license ends when the refund is issued.

Apple controls refund decisions and payment reversals for purchases made through In App Purchase. An Apple purchaser must use Apple's purchase history or Apple's refund request process ↗. If Apple revokes or refunds a purchase, access in the app may end when StoreKit updates the entitlement.

These terms do not limit any mandatory consumer right, legal guarantee, remedy for defective digital content, or longer cancellation right that applies in the purchaser's location. Nothing in these terms requires a consumer to waive a right that cannot legally be waived.

Sources and external links

The service links to public data publishers, Apple, Stripe, and other independent services. Those services control their own content, availability, terms, and privacy practices. A link or citation does not imply endorsement unless the site expressly says otherwise.

The service may evolve

Features, datasets, and free materials may be corrected, replaced, limited, or discontinued. Paid licenses for files already delivered remain subject to the purchase terms in effect when purchased. Access may be limited when reasonably necessary to protect the service, enforce these terms, comply with law, or address misuse.

Limits permitted by law

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the free service and public information are provided as available without implied warranties of uninterrupted operation, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement. Paid digital content remains subject to any mandatory legal guarantee that applies to the purchaser.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Slantwire Studios, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service. Aggregate liability for a claim will not exceed the greater of 100 United States dollars or the amount the claimant paid to Slantwire Studios, LLC for the affected product during the previous 12 months.

These limits do not exclude liability for fraud, willful misconduct, personal injury caused by negligence, breach of mandatory consumer rights, or any liability that applicable law does not permit to be limited.

Mandatory rights are preserved

Applicable law governs these terms. A consumer may use any local court, regulator, or mandatory dispute process available under law. Nothing in these terms selects a forum or removes a mandatory right where that selection or removal is not enforceable.

If any provision is unenforceable, it will be limited only as much as necessary and the remaining provisions will continue. A failure to enforce one provision is not a waiver. These terms, the Privacy Notice, and any license shown for a specific product at purchase form the agreement for the service.

Future updates

Revised terms will be posted with a new effective date. Material changes will not retroactively reduce rights in a completed purchase. Continued use after new terms take effect constitutes acceptance for future use, while a new purchase requires affirmative acceptance at checkout.

Legal and purchase support

For website purchase help, include the purchase email and Stripe receipt. For an Apple purchase, use Restore Purchases first and include the Apple order information if support is still needed. Do not send card numbers, account passwords, government identifiers, a child's personal information, or confidential financial records.
