Slantwire Studios, LLC, a United States limited liability company, operates World Economy and is responsible for the information described in this notice.

What the service receives

No account is required. The site does not sell personal information and does not use personal information for cross site behavioral advertising. Public economic data and device saved learning choices are not linked to a visitor profile.

OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare provide hosting, network delivery, and security services. When the site or app requests a page or public dataset, delivery and security providers necessarily receive basic request information such as an IP address, requested path, time, browser or app network information, and security signals. This information is used to deliver the service, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and maintain reliability.

Browser preferences and the economic passport use local device storage. They remain on that device until the visitor clears site data. Free samples do not require an email, account, or payment.

An adult may send an anonymous homeschool research response containing selected categories for adult role, learner age group, country, project relationship, teaching timing, the sample selected, sample use, current approach, biggest challenge, and the resource feature they value most. The research record includes a random retry identifier, confirmation of the adult and storage notices, the page source, policy version, and time. It does not include a name, email address, written answer, IP address, or referrer. Hosting and security providers still process the basic network request information described above, but that information is not added to the research response table.

If an adult instead chooses to email feedback or a detailed homeschool research response, Slantwire Studios, LLC receives the sender address, message content, and any information the sender chooses to include. Optional written answers on the research page stay in the visitor's browser unless the visitor opens and sends the detailed email. Adults must not include a learner's personal information or private household financial information.

No app profile, advertising, or tracking SDK

The World Economy iOS app has no advertising, account, push notification, tracking across apps, or analytics SDK that measures product use. Saved indicator and country combinations, downloaded datasets, economic passport selections, and locally available curriculum files remain on the device.

The app requests public datasets from losttofound.org over an encrypted connection. The hosting and security providers receive the basic network request information needed to return that dataset, diagnose failures, and prevent abuse. The app does not send saved learning activity or Apple purchase transaction details to Slantwire Studios, LLC. Deleting the app removes its local preferences, cache, and downloaded app data.

Optional homebuying plans saved on your device

The homebuying workspace calculates your financial assumptions in your browser. It writes a plan to local browser storage only when you choose Save on this device. That copy can be opened by someone using the same browser profile and remains until you delete it or clear browser data. Exported files contain your entered assumptions; imported files are validated locally and are not uploaded. Deleting the browser copy does not delete downloaded files.

Aggregate measurement without visitor profiles

The website does not load the Cloudflare Web Analytics browser beacon and does not create a visitor profile. For a small set of public pages, the site keeps a daily aggregate count using only the UTC date, a fixed broad page category, the label unclassified page request, a count, and the last update time. The count does not include an IP address, user agent, referrer, cookie, session, device identifier, query string, name, email address, or child information. It can include repeat requests, automated checks, and crawlers, so it is not reported as unique visitors or confirmed human visits. Cloudflare still processes network and security request data at the hosting edge and may provide separate operational metrics derived from requests.

Financial calculators and the housing tracker also send a fixed action label when someone first changes a calculator input, submits a market comparison, or follows a mortgage link during a page visit. Only daily aggregate action counts and broad tool categories are stored, for up to 90 days. No input values, selected cities, student answers or visitor identifiers are sent in these action messages. The site skips these messages when Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control is enabled. These counts can include automation and repeat visits and are not unique people or completed financial decisions.

After an adult accepts the purchase terms and requests checkout, the site records a limited checkout start event. It also records a completed purchase event after Stripe confirms payment. These records may include the product, page path, referring hostname, campaign labels, checkout reference, and time. They support delivery, fraud prevention, support, accounting, and reliability; they are not used for advertising or tracking across sites.

Stripe receipts and Apple purchases

Only adults should complete a purchase. Before an email is requested on the website, the purchaser must select an adult age group. Age group selections are not stored in the project database. Stripe may receive the purchaser name, email, billing details, payment method details, IP address, device information, tax location, and transaction details. Slantwire Studios, LLC does not receive or store the full card number.

The site stores the Stripe checkout reference, purchaser email, product, payment status, amount, currency, and transaction times to perform the purchase contract, deliver the file, provide support, prevent fraud, issue refunds, and meet accounting or legal obligations. Stripe sends the payment receipt to the address entered at checkout. For an eligible household package, the receipt description includes the purchased package and private iOS app access code. The Economics Club Kit is a website only group product and does not include an iOS app access code. Stripe explains its processing in the Stripe Privacy Policy ↗.

An eligible completed household website purchase may create a private app access code. The site stores only a cryptographic hash of the full code, a short lookup identifier, the related Stripe checkout reference, the product, creation time, redemption count, last redemption time, and revocation status. When the code is entered in the iOS app, the app sends it to losttofound.org over an encrypted connection. The server verifies the hash and paid order, returns the purchased product, and does not return the purchaser email or payment details. The app stores the restored product entitlement in the iPhone Keychain.

In App Purchases are processed by Apple. The iOS app uses verified StoreKit entitlements on the device to decide which curriculum files to unlock and provides a Restore Purchases control. The app does not send Apple Account details, payment information, or StoreKit transaction records to Slantwire Studios, LLC. Apple handles purchase information under its own privacy terms.

Advertising is disabled

Google AdSense requests and advertising cookies are currently disabled. If advertising is introduced, this notice and the Cookie and Storage Notice will be updated before activation. Where required, visitors will receive consent and refusal controls through a Google certified consent platform. Advertising will remain excluded from learning activities focused on children, purchase controls, privacy pages, and source documentation.

Learning without a child profile

Some educational materials are designed for learners ages 11 through 16. A learner may read lessons and download free samples without an account, email, browser analytics beacon, or product event submission. Learning activities use fictional information and must not be completed with a child's real household income, debt, employment, benefits, contact, location, school, or purchasing information. Purchases and support requests must be completed by a parent, guardian, or other adult.

The service does not knowingly request personal information directly from a child under 13. Hosting and security providers still receive the limited request information needed to deliver and protect any web or app request. If a parent or guardian believes a child submitted personal information, email the address below. After reasonable verification, the information will be reviewed and deleted when legally permitted. The service does not use personalized advertising.

Access, correction, and deletion

Depending on location, a person may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection regarding personal information. A person may also withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing and may complain to the appropriate privacy authority.

Email a clear request from the purchase or support address involved. Reasonable information may be requested to verify the request. Slantwire Studios, LLC does not discriminate against a person for exercising a privacy right.

Because the service does not sell or share personal information for cross context behavioral advertising, Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals do not change the current service. A legally valid Global Privacy Control signal will be honored if a covered sale or sharing practice is introduced.

Information is not kept indefinitely

• Device preferences remain until the visitor clears browser data or deletes the app.
• Anonymous homeschool research responses are scheduled for deletion after 90 days through daily database maintenance.
• Daily aggregate page request and tool action counts are scheduled for deletion after 90 days through the same maintenance.
• Adult checkout start and completed purchase events are deleted after 24 months.
• Order records are deleted after seven years unless a longer period is required for a dispute, fraud prevention, tax, or legal obligation.
• Support correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably needed to resolve the request and protect legal rights.
• Cloudflare applies retention periods to network, security, and operational analytics information under the service configuration and its own terms. The operator must verify those settings; this site does not promise a retention period it cannot independently enforce.
• Stripe and Apple apply their own retention obligations as described in their privacy materials.

Processing in the United States

Slantwire Studios, LLC is based in the United States. Apple, hosting, security, analytics, payment, and support providers may process information in the United States and other locations where they operate. Where applicable law requires transfer safeguards, the service relies on provider contracts and lawful transfer mechanisms available for that processing.

Providers are selected for functions such as app distribution, In App Purchase, hosting, security, analytics, payment processing, file delivery, and support. Each provider may process information under its own terms, privacy materials, and legal obligations.

Updates to this notice

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. When a change materially affects a purchase or requires consent, additional notice or consent will be provided as required by law.

Privacy questions

Adults may use this address for a children's privacy or deletion request. Do not send card numbers, government identifiers, account passwords, a child's personal information, or confidential financial records.
